SECCCO Training Centre
Due to demands of the industry and our communities SECCCO opened and operates a training center where we get fresh graduates and students from TVETs to get hands on training from our engineers. These trainees get out to the job market either as self-employment or get absorbed by companies working within the sector. With support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), SECCCO has in the recent past trained a total of 550 youths in Mogadishu, Baidoa and Kismayo in solar kits installation, and maintenance.
The trainees consisted of 200 male, 200 female and 150 IDPs (disaggregated per gender). SECCCO has deployed the trainees as field agents to demonstrate and scale up its solar PayGo model in Somalia. Some have been seconded to permanently work at SECCCO while others are on a project basis kind of contract.
